When divergence is just noise

Pretty mismatches between price and oscillator are common. A short filter list keeps them from becoming trades.

Hand reviewing charts on a display

Divergence Studio opens with a gallery of failed divergences. Same shape, different context — ranging chop, news spikes, and thin holiday sessions where oscillator swings exaggerate.

Our working filter asks four questions: Was the price swing a clear pivot or a messy cluster? Did the oscillator make a clean peak? Does a higher timeframe agree? Is there a confirmation trigger that is not the divergence candle itself?

If any answer is weak, the mismatch stays in the journal as observation, not as a setup. That restraint is the skill most traders skip.
